So I'm doing a Christmas Calendar of Christmasy Foods.

1 Bottle Red Wine
60g Demerara Sugar
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Nutmeg
1 Orange
1 Dried Bay Leaf
1 Vanilla Pod
Instructions:
Pour the entire bottle of wine into a saucepan.
Chop the Orange in half.
Grate the Nutmeg.
Put the Orange halfs, Sugar, Grated Nutmeg, Cinnamon stick, Vanilla pod and Bay leaf into the wine
Heat on the stove over a low-medium heat until all the sugar has dissolved.
Taste the wine to see if is sweet enough for your liking and add more sugar to sweeten to taste (it's best to do this is small amounts, such as tbsps).
Once all the Sugar has dissolved, remove from the heat.
Strain into a heatproof container.
Serve.
